Ubuntu 8.04 reinstall does not detect hard drive

Before posting this message, I search the forum and couldn't find anything to help me.

I wanted to reinstall Ubuntu on my fitPC2. I tried Ubuntu 9.04 using the guide at http://www.fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?t ... buntu_9.04 but when I did not have any luck with with the display, I decided to go back to Ubuntu 8.04. I downloaded Ubuntu 8.04 from the web and checked it md5sum, burnt the disk and when I boot fitPC2 using Ubuntu 8.04 disc, it does not detect the hard drive. Ubuntu 9.04 or Cent OS 5 can detect the hard drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't know the instructions for Ubuntu 9.10 is already up. I will give it a shot and then see how it goes.
