4 fitpc's and only one working with display ProLite E1700S

Post by lno »

I have 4 different fit pc with windows XP SP3.
Only one of them is working with the Iiyama ProLite E1700S monitor on a HDMI-DVI kabel. no adapter between.
I've checked the intel drivers, display drivers and displaysetting and they are the same on the fit-pc's. But only one is working.
The other it-pc's have no connection with the ProLite E1700S monitor because the monitor gives No Signal and drops off-line.

I've tried all three xpdriver installers provided in the downloadsection but none of them gets the ProLites going.

All four PC's are working with an other monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 172t)

Wat can be the difference between the one and the other three? :?:

I have three Iiyama ProLite 1700S monitors here and only one Samsung so you see it would be nice to get the Prolites going or else I have to buy new monitors.

If you have just updated the bios it could be the "LCD clock" setting under "extra" which is default to disabled but needs to be changed to enabled.

Thank you for the reply.
But... Where is this setting? is in the BIOS? reboot en hold F2?

I've checked the BIOS on two pc's. (one working with monitor and one not)but there is no difference in BIOS date. There both 07/21/09.

Get the HDD from the working unit and put it in another unit. Then check with your display. If it does work it is a driver problem. If it doesn't work it is a BIOS / HW problem.

Since the 3 units work with another display I would be very surprised if they have identical HW problem.

We've changed the HD. Still one is working and the other not.

My understanding of the situation:
- You have 4 fit-PC2, 3 Iiyama displays and 1 Samsung display
- All fit-PC2 are working with the Samsung
- fit-PC2 A works with the Iiyama, fit-PC2 B,C,D do not work with it
- If you put the HD from fit-PC2 A in fit-PC2 B and connect to Iiyama it doesn't work.

Let's check if signal at all arrives to the Iiama
- Connect fit-PC2 B to Samsung and enter BIOS - make sure you see the BIOS setup
- Connect fit-PC2 B to Iiyama and do the same. Do you see the BIOS screen?
- Do the same with fit-PC2 C,D

If you do not see the BIOS image check
- Settings in the Iiyama, toggle between inputs
- Cables

correct, and vice versa
- if I put the HD from fit-PC2 B in fit-PC2 A and connect to Iiyama it works

Of course I kept the total configuration the same. On fit-PC2 B, C and D I see no Bios on the Iiyama.

Conclusion:
It must be a HW problem, but why on 3 fit-PC's and what causes this problem?

I couldn't quite make it up from the posts, but did you also try the non-working monitors with the hdmi-dvi cable from the working monitor? I had bought a fit-pc and hooked it up using the hdmi-dvi connector to a single link dvi cable, and I got no image whatsoever. At home I used a dual link dvi cable and it worked fine... Also try (if you have) to hook up the fit-pc's directly to a hdmi TV using a hdmi-hdmi cable.
