Hello,
I want to purchase the Intense PC pro with SSD rather than HDD for the extended temperature range, however I emailed Compulab and they only install these for custom orders of over 32 units. Therefore if I buy the barebone unit, could you let me know if there is any recommended model of SSD and memory so that I can buy these, or is the Intense PC pro compatible with any?
If there is a list of compatible SSDs and memory modules please let me know which ones these are.
Also, if there is no hard drive, would I be able to install Windows 7 from the USB drive?
Thank you,
Bobby
SSD and memory for the intense PC pro
Re: SSD and memory for the intense PC pro
We can't recommend any specific model or brand of an SSD. So far, we have only some compatibility issues with an Intel SSD 3** and 5** series with AHCI mode. You can search forum for an user experience with a different SSD models and manufacturers.
Intense PC pro is compatible with a DDR3-1600 SO-DIMM memory modules
You can easyly install Windows 7/8 from an USB drive. For a reference guide please refer to http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Ho ... _USB_stick

Re: SSD and memory for the intense PC pro
Hi, thanks!
can you tell me how many memory modules it can take, and up to what size RAM? Could I put for example two 16 GB modules? (eg these ones: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMSX8GX ... 750&sr=1-3)
thanks,
Bobby

There is a two memory slots in the Intense PC.can you tell me how many memory modules it can take, and up to what size RAM?
The maximum amount of memory supported is 16GB, so it is only two of 8GB each oneCould I put for example two 16 GB modules? (eg these ones: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMSX8GX ... 750&sr=1-3)

According to the specs they are compatible, but we haven't tested this brand/model

This refers to 1333MHz. Earlier in this thread you stated that 1600 is "compatible.gabrielh wrote:According to the specs they are compatible, but we haven't tested this brand/model
Which is it? Please clarify.
Re: SSD and memory for the intense PC pro
Both the 1333MHz and the 1600MHz DDR3 memory type supported on the IntensePC Pro (i7) model. With the 1600MHz models you will achieve a better memory performance.

Re: SSD and memory for the intense PC pro
Dear Gabriel:
I am waiting for a Intense-PC Value (Intel Celeron 847E).
- Do you know if DDR3-1600 Mhz SO-DIMM is supported in the Value model?
- Will this memory, configured at 1333 Mhz, with a lower latency (CL7) be better than other DDR3-1333 Mhz SO-DIMM with higher latency (CL9)?
The reason of those "tricky" questions is because there is not DDR3-1333 Mhz SO-DIMM with low latency (CL7) in the market, which is supposed to be beneficial in terms of speed.
Thanks in advance.

Re: SSD and memory for the intense PC pro
Well, I haven't found a way to edit the last post. Sorry. I answer myself:
According with Intense-PC Value specifications, the far better memory it could be added is:
http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1 ... K2_8GX.pdf
DDR3-1600MHz. SO-DIMM. TIMING PARAMETERS:
• JEDEC: DDR3-1333 CL9-9-9 @1.5V (By default, once it is installed)
• XMP Profile #1: DDR3-1333 CL7-7-7-20 @1.5V
• XMP Profile #2: DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-27 @1.5V (Not supported by Intense-PC Value)
Now, the only question I would like to ask is:
Does the Intense-PC Value BIOS have "DRAM Timing Control"?
Yours faithfully,
Hugo Alonso
