I'm sorry in I was miss leading, I was primarily asking IF it could be a Pro/Home issue as apposed to a FIT-PC issue.

Another odd thing to try is different USB ports. This could also change the outcome of the problem.

The IR should be detected by Girder Automation Software by Promixis, and should be trainable to your MCE IR device. Could be a PNP (Plug and Play/Prey) fault, or a required reboot after driver installation, or even a driver issue (conflict with system files) either case, it should not matter what USB ports to use / stay away from. halestorm, I would have to assume that you and your friends Windows XP installation...
