Re: Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS fit-pc2i iso image available
I've re-installed correctly, and it boots (fast!) now, but I've got another problem. After installation I dutifully performed "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get upgrade". The "upgrade" hangs and locks up the Fit while upgrading "libc6". The keyboard doesn't respond at all (NumLock won't even to...

Re: Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS fit-pc2i iso image available
So ... I finally grabbed the the correct ISO, and the install went without a hitch! However, on reboot, nothing happens [/i]- after POST, I just get a blinking cursor in character location 0,0. I did as you said, and said "No" to the "Install Grub in the MBR" question, but it seems to me like I shou...

Re: WiFi Adapter RTL8187 or RT3090??
Thanks. Will you help me further clarify?: Are you saying that we can still get 1.1GHz models, but they won't have WiFi capability becuase the 8187 is no more? Is the implication, then: - if we want Fit2s with WiFi capability, we have to move up to the 1.6GHz models with teh 3090 chipset? - we can g...

Ah-HA! Thanks!
Are both models still available, or are 1.1GHz ones being sunset?

WiFi Adapter RTL8187 or RT3090??
I'm trying to figure out how to get WPA/WPA2 working with Ubuntu 9.10. I've found posts about updated drivers for the RT3090 Chipset ( http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=1060&hilit=wpa+Ubuntu+WPA ), but Ubuntu loads the RTL8187 driver, and when I open the cases of my Fit2s, the chipse...

Switching between WiFi and Ethernet causes connection delay
When I switch between WiFi and Ethernet, there is an unpredictable delay between the time I bring the new interface up and the time I can once again ping or otherwise connect to a certain destinations on the network. Usually, these things clear themselves up after as many as 5 minutes. It isn't the ...

Fit2, Ubuntu, WiFi, and PEAP
I asked this back in August, but didn't get any bites. I thought I'd try asking again in case there have been some new insights since then: Does the WiFi driver for Ubuntu support PEAP (and its cousins)? If it's purported to support it, has anyone out there successfully implemented it? Thanks for an...

Fit-2 won't reboot with Ubuntu 9.04
I've installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my Fit-2, and the "reboot" command won't reboot the machine. It goes through the shut-down sequence just fine, but when it actually comes time to do the hardware reboot, it won't do it - the machine just hangs saying "restarting now". Also, the soft power switch doesn't...
