Preparing a bootable USB flash device on a Windows PC

  1. Download the Rufus application.
  2. Download and extract Bios Updater Package.
  3. Connect the USB flash device to your host PC (ensure that you don't have any other USB mass storage devices connected).
  4. Run Win32DiskImager.exe.
  5. Select the target disk in the Device drop-box.
  6. Select the extracted BIOS_Updater.img in the Image File search-box.
  7. Press Write button to proceed.
  8. Wait until completion.
  9. Disconnect the USB flash device and connect it again. It should now be assigned a drive letter.
  10. Download the latest BIOS binary file for fit-PC3 or fit-PC3i.
  11. Copy the fp3.bin or fp3i.bin file to the root directory on the USB flash device.

Updating BIOS

  1. Connect the prepared USB flash device to the fit-PC3 and boot (ensure that the UFD should be connected to the USB2 connector only).
  2. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS setup utility.
  3. Set 1st boot priority to USB HDD.
  4. Save and exit.
  5. The fit-PC3 should boot to DOS from the USB device.
  6. Type flash3 for fit-PC3 or flash3i for fit-PC3i.
  7. Wait until a "BIOS is updated successfully" message appears.
  8. Disconnect the USB device and reboot.
