Upgraded to latest BIOS and the BIOS shows 16GB, but the newly installed OS does not and sees only half in /proc/meminfo and free -m.
Anyone know if this is an OS problem?
Thanks

I need a general idea if the is is a hardware issue or simply a kernel problem with the OS that I am running?

Hi,
Sorry for the late response. To be sure we are doing the same test
- Please try LiveUSB with LinuxMint 17 MATE (32bit)
http://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=159
- Go to the Menu->System Tools->System Monitor->Resources, memory info should be there.
