playing very slow mpeg file

Post by puiu »

Hi

I bought an 1.6GHz, Ubuntu Fit-PC2 unit and the mpeg demo files are play back very slow. It is changing the frames slower than one per second.

Is it any setup required to play these files? I need to use the unit for full screen live video

Thank you,

Denis

Demo videos should be played with mplayer-vaapi. Other players do not have hardware acceleration features.

Can you tell me how to enable VAAPI? I just click on the file and mplayer starts. VAAPI is not enable by default? I used Fit_PC1 with VLC to play some mpeg files and the full screen video was decent (SD not HD)

Thank you

Strange, vaapi should be enabled in mplayer by default. Seems configuration is changed. Open mplayer, click on "Preferences". Look for vaapi in "Video" and "Codecs & demuxer" sections.

Or you can use command line: mplayer -vo vaapi -va vaapi /path/to/video
