Re: USB ports remain on in Shutdown
Reporting back. I've installed the latest BIOS update, which does indeed include a setting called "USB Power in S5". I've enabled and disabled the setting, and the USB ports still show 5 Volts regardless of how it is set. Further, I've verified the computer is in S5 by observing the power button LED...

Re: USB ports remain on in Shutdown
I just thought to check for a BIOS update and I see in the release notes that the latest BIOS release includes "USB power control in S5". That looks very promising and i'll get started on a BIOS update to see if that solves the issues.

USB ports remain on in Shutdown
Hello, We're running Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB on a bunch of fitlet2 PCs. When putting the computer into shutdown we would like the USB ports to turn off (power down). Unfortunately, both the USB 2 and USB 3 ports all remain on when in shutdown. In Windows we have tried the following: disabled Fast...

Re: fitlet2 performance
I'm curious about the difference between the J3455 and the E3950. The J3455 has ~10% higher geekbench with a ~20% lower TDP and even costs less. What would be the advantage of choosing the Atom E3950 over the Celeron J3455? Does it have lower idle power consumption? Better performance in another are...

Re: CMOS Battery
Hi mbirger,
As I mentioned in my first post, I'd be comfortable doing the soldering. Can you tell me where to purchase the battery with the appropriate soldering fins?
Thank you,

CMOS Battery
Hello, We've got a small fleet of IPC Pros and we're starting to see some of the CMOS batteries fail. I opened one of them up to find that it doesn't appear to be as simple as swapping in a new battery since the rechargeable Li-Ion is soldered to the board. I don't mind a little soldering, but I hav...

Re: Fitlet iA10 Current and Power Levels
I think you may be on to something with CPU scaling at idle. Watching the CPU frequency (as a % of maximum), it rarely falls below 80 or 90% with no activity. Maybe Linux is more aggressively scaling like you suggest. However, loading my CPU fully fuels a power consumption jump just above that of th...

Re: Reducing Power Consumption
So I did some quick testing. With 100% CPU usage I get the following power consumption: 4 cores = 10.7 Watts 3 cores = 9.5 Watts 2 cores = 8.4 Watts With a sustained load of about 20% CPU usage: 4 cores = 8.7 Watts 3 cores = 8.7 Watts 2 cores = 8.7 Watts So for a typical use case, unloading cores do...

fitlet Heatsink
Just wanted to document my results with the fitlet Heatsink Add-on. I've got a fitlet iA10. Under my test operation (roughly 20%CPU load), the standard heatsink keeps the fitlet at about 65 deg C. Running the same operations with the add-on heatsink, mounted with thermal paste, the fitlet sits aroun...

Re: Reducing Power Consumption
Hassellbear, thanks for the comment. Found an older post of yours and posted some results and questions there.

Arwen, thanks. I'll investigate disabling a core or two to see how that affects power consumption.
