I would also be very interested to use your image on my FitPC2. Please provide it to us.
Thank you,
Johannes

You may want to try fbdev driver instead of vesa. Others reported it is much faster.

Re: Faulty wireless connection?
My FIT-PC wireless reception also sucks. Maybe you really have to put the fit-pc directly next to your access point to verify that it actually does not get any signal instead of just having poor reception. Btw. if you open your FIT-PC you can check whether antenna is connected internally. You just n...

Thank you for the Live CD.
Video playback was comparable to Arch Linux in respect to Watchmen playing through. However, there were A/V sync problems. 720p movies not only have artifacts, but also the famous green line from hell at the bottom.

elupus: Problem is that there are currently issues with IEGD vaapi + GL rendering. To quote the developer of mplayer-vaapi: IEGD does not support the relevant features yet to operate with OpenGL. Only the MRST driver does that. Other than that my personal best experience was with Arch Linux. There I...

Re: duty, VAT et al. to Western Europe/Germany?
I shipped my Fit-PC2 from U.S. to Germany by mail. I had to pay 20% at local customs office. The rate should be exactly the same from Israel or any other Non-EU country. HOWEVER: there are special agreements between Germany and Israel concerning duty. In general they say that you do not have to pay ...

Re: Please help me make it play 1080p content
The day before yesterday was the first time I got a full-length HD video played with only one minor issue on the Fit-PC2. 8-) It was Watchmen Ultimate Cut in 1080p. A well-mastered movie with quite demanding scenes in it. I had less luck with other movies, interestingly only 720p. Heavy tearing in m...

Re: flicker on high resolution
I had no flicker with 1920x1200 in Ubuntu and don't have flicker on Arch Linux with 1920x1080 and 1920x1200.

Mnemonic: Yes with IEGD driver this bug seems not to exist. However that driver is not available for Mandriva right now.

Re: fit PC2i Wireless Access Point in Linux?
True they introduced new hardware support in 2.6.33. However my fit-pc2 wireless worked with older Arch Linux kernel (2.6.31 or so) already. Didn't try AP, don't need it, but found a link for you that's maybe helpful:
